Aztec: Background and Bio Information

Anthony P. Tippins, P.E.

Mr. Tippins brings over 18 years experience of providing sophisticated, industry leading energy management and control solutions that include a full range of products, services, engineering and project management for the supermarket and retail industries worldwide.

Prior to joining AEP, Mr. Tippins was Vice President and General Manager for Invensys Retail Vertical Market. His organization, consisting of engineers, project managers, sales and account management, was focused on providing complete energy management solutions including products, services, engineering and installations to the supermarket and retail industry worldwide.

Mr. Tippins has served in numerous other key management and engineering roles including, Vice President of Sales - Com-Trol, National Account Manager - Com-Trol and Applications/Design Engineer - Hill Phoenix Refrigeration and Margaux Refrigeration.

Mr. Tippins is a 1992 graduate from Georgia Southern University with BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a licensed Professional Engineer. In 2006, he graduated from Emory University's Goizueta Business School with an Executive MBA degree.

Mr. Tippins is a 22 year veteran and commisioned officer in the United States Navy Reserves and also a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Georgia.

Dean B. Cromwell

Mr. Dean Cromwell, a 17 year industry veteran with broad experiences in supermarket refrigeration, energy engineering, project management, control systems and program execution.

Currently Dean holds the position of Director of New Business Development for Field Delivered Services within the Danfoss Food Retail group.  Prior to that, Mr. Cromwell was a founding partner of Aztec Energy Partners, and held the position of National Account Executive.  As a National Account Executive, Mr. Cromwell was responsible for overseeing all aspects of a national supermarket chain's energy management program. Dean also directed a team of Account Managers and Project Managers that served the account. Dean was instrumental from concept to design, development, and execution of an industry-leading energy management program for a national supermarket chain. 

Before founding Aztec Energy Partners, Mr. Cromwell held the positions of National Account Executive and Director of Field Operations for Invensys Retail Vertical Market.   Prior to that, he served as Director of Field Operations for Com-Trol, which was purchased by Invensys.  In that role, he worked with the entire Field Operations Team to develop standards and best practices for the installation and implementation of supermarket control systems.   Prior to joining Com-Trol, Dean was a Project Engineer for VaCom Technologies in La Verne, CA. While at VaCom, Dean was involved in various aspects of refrigeration engineering and design, with an emphasis on supermarket control systems.

Dean holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.

Robert Eidson

Mr. Eidson is one of the Founding partners of AEP and has over 15 years of in-depth experience in the HVAC-R controls industry with focus on the supermarket and retail industries.

Prior to AEP, Mr. Eidson held the position of Director of Training and Technical Support for Invensys Retail Vertical Market. He has also held the positions of Account Manager and Field Engineer with Com-Trol, and various Engineering and Quality Control positions with Hill Phoenix Refrigeration.

In his most recent role as Director of Retail Sales, Mr. Eidson has been instrumental in the development and refinement of Aztec's Recommissioning services and continues to provide invaluable input into Aztec's overall operational strategies. His experience at leading and managing people have ensured the continued growth of Retail Sales and has contributed to a reduced carbon footprint in the southeastern retail facilities by roughly 100,000 tons of carbon emissions.

As a Licensed Electrician with extensive expertise in energy management systems, Mr. Eidson combines his technical expertise with a lead by example attitude to develop strong team members that guarantee energy savings to our customers and improve the environment.

Theresa V. Joyal

Mrs. Terry Joyal brings over 30 years experience from the HVAC-R industry with a focus on customer service, contractor management, and refrigeration expertise.

Prior to joining AEP, Mrs. Joyal held Management positions with Stop & Shop Supermarket and BJ’s Wholesale Club where she was instrumental in reducing total energy costs through focused energy management solutions, as well as contractor management and training programs. As an entrepreneur, Mrs. Joyal was vital to the success of the Refrigeration Company that she and her husband established and which has now become a family-run business. During this time and for many years to follow, Mrs. Joyal held a “Master Refrigeration II” license from the State of Rhode Island.

Mrs. Joyal is a 1992 graduate from Bryant College with a Bachelor of Business Management. In 2008, she received her Master of Business Administration from Bryant University.

Mrs. Joyal brings strong leadership skills and an unrelenting, customer-centered focus that, combined with her vast experience in this industry, will ensure that Aztec Energy Partners maintains its Number One position as the Industry Leader in Total Energy Management solutions.

James M.(Marc) Carr

Mr. Carr brings over 20 years experience leading teams and solving problems. Prior to joining AEP, Mr. Carr was the General Manager of Cambridge Machinery. His organization, consisting of sales and marketing employees, mechanical and electrical engineers, and customer service technicians was focused on providing metal tube forming sales, engineering, and service solutions to the HVAC, Refrigeration, Automotive, and other industries across North and Central America. Mr. Carr was also responsible for international supplier relations and conducted regular negotiations with suppliers in Japan and Spain.

Prior to this Mr. Carr worked as the Engineering & Service Manager - Cambridge Machinery, Sales Manager - Cambridge Machinery, as well as numerous positions with Ford Motor Company to include Electrical Engineer, Production and Maintenance Supervisor, Production Superintendent, and Six Sigma Blackbelt.

Mr. Carr is a 1994 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. In 2006, he received his Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.

Mr. Carr also served for 12 years as an Infantry Officer in the Georgia Army National Guard. During his service Mr. Carr graduated from the US Army Ranger School, led operations in preparation for combat during the first Gulf War, assumed command of his Company during the Atlanta Olympics, and served in numerous leadership roles.

Mr. Carr brings a balance of diverse business skills, along with a fresh perspective, to the team. His leadership experience, keen understanding of technical sales, marketing, and customer service, as well as his Six Sigma blackbelt training will strengthen our position for energy services and assist in overall growth for AEP.
